Police officer bitten on face by dog in Sydney

A police officer will undergo facial surgery after being savagely attacked by a dog during a call out in Sydney’s southwest overnight.

The dog lunged at the male sergeant’s face after officers arrested a 52-year-old man over a domestic-related incident at Georges Hall early on Sunday morning, police said.

NSW Police said the dog mauled the officer as he spoke with the alleged victim outside the home on Marsden Street.

The officer was taken to Liverpool Hospital with serious facial injuries…
